Abstract

Final-year nursing students face a stage that demands mental readiness and the ability to handle multiple obligations at once, since besides writing their thesis they must also meet graduation requirements such as the TOEFL test and BTCLS training. This condition can trigger anxiety, particularly when students encounter difficulties during supervision, extensive revisions, limited time and cost, and concern about not meeting all graduation requirements on time. Social support from family, friends, and significant others is presumed to help students cope with such pressure. This study aimed to determine the relationship between social support and anxiety levels among final-year nursing students facing thesis writing at Universitas Yatsi Madani. The study used a quantitative method with a correlational analytic design and a cross-sectional approach, employing Stratified Random Sampling. The analysis using the Spearman Rank correlation test showed a significance value (p-value) of 0.020 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.184, indicating a significant relationship with a negative direction and a very weak strength between social support and anxiety level. It can be concluded that social support has a significant, albeit very weak, relationship with anxiety levels among final-year nursing students facing thesis writing at Universitas Yatsi Madani.
