Abstract

Physics learning requires contextual and interactive teaching materials that connect scientific concepts with real-life issues so that learning becomes meaningful and improves outcomes. At SMA Swasta Gajah Mada Medan, physics teaching materials remain conventional printed media without interactive elements, and most students have not reached the school's Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 75. This study aims to develop a physics e-module based on the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach on Renewable Energy, and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This Research and Development (R&D) study used the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The e-module was designed using Canva and published as an interactive flipbook via Heyzine Flipbook. Participants were 30 Grade X students. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest tests. Results show the e-module achieved a very valid category from material experts (87.3%) and media experts (93.6%), and a very practical category from teachers (90.0%) and students (87.6%). Students average scores increased from 34.22 to 84.89, with an N-Gain of 0.77 in the high category. The SETS-based e-module is therefore effective in improving student learning outcomes on Renewable Energy.
