Abstract

Toha Batu Palu Ltd. is one of company engaged in mining industrial of natural gravel sand which is located in Ulujadi Sub-Distrrict, Palu City, Centaral Sulawesi Province. Open Pit method was method which was applied by Toha Batu  Palu Ltd. Applying mine drainage used by Toha Batu Palu Ltd. was using mine dewatering. Mine dewatering is an effort to handle mine water by pull water up entering to the mining area. This method is used to treat the water which come up from rain. The method selection was determined by construct if trenches and open ponds in mining area. The trenches shape ware trapezium. Thee were several data teken in the calculation of trenches, such as drain surface width, drain bottom widh and drain depth so that the top with (B) = 1,5 m, botton width (b) = 0,75 m, height (h) =1,5 m  and angle (⁰) = 64⁰. Open ponds in Toha Batu Palu Ltd, three ware three units of sedimend  pond and the shapes were square and the volume  was 400 m2 for area  and 2000 m3 for the volume. In this calculatiom,, it  considered runoff water debit  of 9,976 m3/second. It could be known that Toha Batu Palu Ltd. was not optimal. So, it was necessary to add several trenches to accommodate runoff water which would be flow into setting ponds
