Abstract

Teaching materials as a tool and foundation for teachers to deliver teaching materials credibly. Interactive and innovative resources will improve students' learning ability and abilities. In fact, based on the results of observations, discussions, and the distribution of questionnaires, the teaching materials used are still limited to school books and rely on the internet. Looking at the results of the discussion, the researcher aims to develop alternative teaching materials in the form of flipbooks, which are designed with high creative value. The problem felt by educators and students is that students still have difficulty understanding and writing poetry texts. Therefore, the researcher will design a product in the form of a flipbook to improve the ability to write poetry texts at SMPN 8 Bogor City class VIII-B. The research was assembled using the development of 4-D models, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The product results show that the flipbook teaching material is "Highly Feasible", as evidenced by the average score of assessment from language, material, and media experts reaching 91.91%. In addition, it is proven by the average pretest result before the product is used of 34.44%, while after the product is used, there is an average posttest value of 84.44%. The product feasibility results were strengthened by the N-Gain test score of 0.76, which is the learning results before and after using the product and the ability to write poetry texts was greatly improved. Then, it was strengthened by the results of the Paired Sample T-Test with a high category of sig. 0.000 < 0.05. The results of user responses have a very good assessment, the average response score of students is 95% and educators is 100%, so it is hoped that alternative teaching material products in the form of sociology-based flipbooks can be a reference for teaching materials that have interactive, innovative, and creative content.
