Abstract

Pulpit as the center for proclaiming God's Word, especially in Christian worship, according to Martin Luther's theology regarding the proclamation of the pure Gospel and its existence as a true characteristic according to the 1996 HKBP Confession, particularly article 7. This research uses a qualitative approach, digging into literature and referencing HKBP theological documents, especially the 1996 HKBP Confession article 7, with the aim of focusing on the sources of Martin Luther's theological literature. Based on the research results, a systematic theological argument foundation is obtained concerning the understanding of God's Word as a living Word centered solely on Jesus Christ. Luther declared 95 theses which he presented to the church leaders at the time because he wanted to change church practices that had gone astray and misled the congregation. Luther emphasized in his 95 Theses that salvation comes only through God through His Son Jesus Christ and cannot be replaced by anything created in the world. Salvation is God's holy design. In his thinking, Luther emphasized that salvation is not achieved through human effort but through Faith, God's Grace, or the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Word of God.Through His Word, God grants forgiveness of sins to the apostles, and the apostles proclaim it, so humans must also proclaim God's Word with the purity of God's Word. Church, as a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ, must proclaim God's Word correctly, and if there is a church that does not preach the Word purely, it can be said that the church is not a true church and does not preach God's Word purely.
