Abstract

The Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) website of Universitas Merdeka Malang serves as the main information medium for delivering academic services, student activities, news, facilities, and faculty-related information to users. However, an ineffective interface design may reduce accessibility and user comfort in obtaining information. This study aims to redesign the user interface and user experience of the FTI Universitas Merdeka Malang website using the User Centered Design (UCD) method and to evaluate the redesign using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The research process included understanding the usage context, identifying user needs, designing a solution in the form of a high-fidelity prototype, and evaluating the resulting prototype. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews involving 28 respondents consisting of students, lecturers, and general visitors. The UEQ evaluation results from 26 respondents showed that all user experience dimensions, namely attractiveness, perspicuity, efficiency, dependability, stimulation, and novelty, were classified as Excellent. The highest score was obtained in the efficiency dimension, indicating that the new design was perceived as helping users complete tasks quickly and easily. Overall, the findings show that the UCD approach was effective in producing a more modern, structured, and user-oriented redesign of the FTI Universitas Merdeka Malang website.
