Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting local economic activities. However, simple and unstructured financial management remains one of the challenges that can limit business development. This condition was also identified among MSME owners in Sadeng Village, Bogor Regency, where financial transactions were still largely recorded manually and digital technology had not been fully utilized. This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to improve MSME owners’ knowledge and practical skills in financial management through the implementation of a simple digital accounting information system. The program was conducted using a participatory approach involving observation and interviews, socialization, training, hands-on practice with a digital financial recording application, and continuous assistance. The training covered income and expense recording, cash flow management, preparation of simple financial statements, and the use of financial information to support business decision-making. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in recording business transactions more systematically and using digital applications to manage their finances. Participants also developed greater awareness of the importance of financial information for monitoring business conditions and supporting more informed decisions. The implementation of a simple accounting information system contributed to more effective financial management, improved operational efficiency, and greater readiness among MSMEs to develop their businesses sustainably. Continuous assistance is therefore needed to encourage consistent adoption of digital financial recording practices in daily business activities.
