Abstract

This study aims to analyze and measure the impact of the Islamic boarding school economic strengthening program on the financial independence indicators of active students and alumni, evaluate the usefulness of entrepreneurship training, and identify challenges in supporting facilities for the business ecosystem at Al-Khoirot Islamic Boarding School in Malang. This is motivated by the importance of Islamic boarding schools integrating religious education with life skills to address the challenges of global economic disruption. Using descriptive quantitative methods through questionnaires and observations, this study involved 40 respondents selected by purposive sampling, divided into 20 alumni and 20 active students. The results showed that the majority of alumni (85%) felt the real impact of this program, where 75% of them have successfully owned their own businesses, and 70% acknowledged the usefulness of the entrepreneurship training received. In the active student cluster, 75% felt ready to be economically independent after graduation, with 65% planning to start a business, although only 60% considered the current availability of facilities adequate. This study concludes that the economic ecosystem of the Al-Khoirot Islamic Boarding School has proven effective in producing financially independent students and alumni, but the institution's management needs to immediately modernize production equipment and expand business space to maintain the long-term sustainability of the program.
