Abstract

The use of digital learning media, particularly instructional videos, has become an important innovation in elementary school learning because it can present concepts visually and concretely in accordance with students' cognitive development stages. This study aims to analyze the implementation of instructional videos in the topic Different but Together in Grade II at SD Negeri Wates 02 from the perspective of cognitive theory. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The results show that the implementation of learning media in the topic Different but Together was carried out systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation by utilizing various media such as concrete media and digital media. The digital learning media used included instructional videos, PowerPoint (PPT), YouTube videos, and digital quiz games, with instructional videos being the most dominantly used medium. From the perspective of cognitive theory, the use of instructional videos is appropriate for the concrete operational stage of Grade II students because it presents concepts visually and concretely, facilitates the processes of assimilation and accommodation, and increases students' attention, engagement, and understanding of the concepts of diversity and togetherness.
