Abstract

This research explores the use of gadgets by children in Muslim households and the strategies parents employ to promote self-control in the era of digital technology. The study aimed to outline the types of gadget usage, Islamic digital parenting approaches, and their contribution to enhancing self-control, parental limitations, and the Islamic principles involved. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data gathered from interviews, observations, and documentation of five intentionally chosen urban Muslim parents. The findings indicated that devices are utilized for education, leisure, communication, and spiritual material, yet they pose the danger of overlooking prayer, study, and time management. In summary, Islamic digital parenting is significant through oversight, time limits, content choices, communication, religious practices, and cultivating responsibility, enabling children to utilize devices wisely
