Abstract

Generation Z faces various financial challenges, including impulsive consumption, difficulties in controlling expenditures, and uncertainty regarding future financial conditions. Saving behavior is therefore an important aspect of financial management that may be influenced by both financial and psychological factors. This study aims to examine the effect of financial attitude, financial anxiety, self-control, and future orientation on saving behavior among Generation Z in Wonosobo Regency. This study employed a quantitative research approach using primary data collected through questionnaires from 100 Generation Z respondents aged 15–29 years in Wonosobo Regency. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that financial attitude, financial anxiety, self-control, and future orientation each have a positive and significant effect on saving behavior. Among the four variables, future orientation has the strongest relative contribution to saving behavior. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination indicates that the four independent variables collectively explain 80.2% of the variation in saving behavior. These findings suggest that improving saving behavior among Generation Z requires not only positive financial attitudes but also stronger self-control, constructive management of financial anxiety, and clear future-oriented financial planning. Financial education programs should therefore integrate financial and psychological aspects to encourage sustainable saving behavior.
