Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the quality of the Decimal Area Board learning media for teaching decimal multiplication to fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, modified up to the limited implementation stage. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN Kayumanis 01. The product quality was evaluated based on its validity and practicality. The validation results showed that the media achieved validity scores of 81.33% from the media expert, 90.66% from the material expert, and 93.33% from the language expert, all categorized as highly valid. The practicality test results showed positive responses of 82.66% in the small group trial and 85.60% in the field trial, both categorized as very good. The findings indicate that the Decimal Area Board learning media is highly valid and practical for use in learning and effectively helps students understand decimal multiplication through area visualization, shading techniques, and concrete representation of place value.
