Abstract

This research aims to develop a game-based learning model on fraction material for fourth-grade elementary school students that is valid, practical, and effective. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques include interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student response, and pre-test and post-test questions. The research subjects were 29 fourth-grade students at SDN Rawamangun 09, East Jakarta. The results showed that the game-based learning model product obtained an average validation percentage of 90,2% from material experts (90%), instructional design experts (96,7%), and language experts (84%) with a very feasible category. The practicality test through student response questionnaires obtained an average persentage 92% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test showed an increase in the average student score from 44,31 on pre-test to 66,38 on the post-test, with an N-Gain of 0,40 in the medium category. Thus, the game-based learning model on fractions for fourth-grade elementary school is declared feasible, practical, and effective for use in mathematics learning. This research contributes to the development of learning theory, praticularly in the application of play-based learning in elementary schools, and provides an innovative alternative for teachers in teaching fraction concepts.
