This study aimed to describe the assessment of the achievement of cooperation character among children aged 5–6 years through experimental activities at TK Kartika I-1 Medan, including the assessment methods, assessment instruments, data collection process, and indicators used by the teacher. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive narrative method. The research subject was one teacher at TK Kartika I-1 Medan, while the research object was the assessment of children’s cooperation character achievement during experimental activities. Data were collected through structured interviews and document analysis, then analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was established through method triangulation. The findings showed that the teacher used direct observation, conversations during activities, and assessment of children’s work or group tasks as assessment methods. The instruments included checklists, assessment rubrics, anecdotal records, and photographic documentation. The assessment process involved observing children’s behavior during activities, recording the observations, and determining children’s developmental levels. The cooperation indicators included sharing tasks, taking turns using materials, helping one another, and respecting peers’ opinions. However, the assessment had not been implemented optimally because experimental activities were conducted infrequently and the cooperation indicators had not been elaborated into detailed and operational behaviors. Therefore, the assessment of cooperation character needs to be strengthened through more regular and planned experimental activities and more specific indicators.
