Abstract

This descriptive qualitative study aims to describe the learning motivation of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Jongkat based on the six indicators outlined in Hamzah B. Uno's theory. Data were collected through observations and interviews with nine students between May 11 and 13, 2026, and subsequently analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, accompanied by a credibility test. Overall, the results indicate that the students' learning motivation falls into the "fairly good" category. The indicators for the desire to succeed, future aspirations, recognition, and engaging learning activities were rated as "good." Meanwhile, the indicators for the drive to learn and the conduciveness of the learning environment were rated as "fairly good." These motivation levels were influenced by internal factors (aspirations and the desire to succeed) and external factors (teacher recognition, instructional variety, and classroom conditions). The findings underscore the importance of varied teaching methods, equitable recognition, improved classroom management, and individualized approaches for less active students.
