Abstract

Culture represents the totality of human activity encompassing the mind, heart, and body united in action and can thus be generally understood as the product of human intellect, creativity, sensibility, volition, and craftmanship, all of which are inseparable from human values. However, one can drift away from divine values when human being disregard God’s existence in their lives. Therefore, it is crucial to uphold values and align with the cultural norms and civil society principles of the Islamic concept in order to realize a better Indonesia. The purpose of this article is to identify several issues within Indonesian culture and society, where Islamic values are beginning to be forgotten. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on research findings, some of these problems stem from the traditions and moral habits of Indonesians who have became ensnared by ambitions rooted in wordly desires.
