Abstract

Marriage does not always run smoothly, as various household dynamics can trigger conflicts that may lead to divorce. The Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama), as a public service institution, plays an important role in addressing marital issues brought by clients both those who are already married and those planning to marry. This study aims to describe the role of Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama) Kombeng in providing counseling services related to marital and premarital issues. This research used a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with the main informants being the Head of Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama) and Religious Counselors at Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama) Kombeng. The findings indicate that Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama) Kombeng handles various household problems, including domestic violence, infidelity, parental interference, and readiness for marriage. Counseling services are carried out in stages, beginning with individual counseling and followed by couple counseling. In addition, Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama) collaborates with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional) and community health centers (Puskesmas) to provide premarital services that cover aspects such as health, mental preparedness, religious understanding of marriage, and reproductive health.
