Abstract

This paper presents the design and development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system for monitoring the speed of DC motors. Utilizing an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with infrared sensors, the system accurately measures motor speed by detecting pulses from a five-pointed star wheel attached to the motor shaft. The Arduino framework and Blynk platform are employed for real-time data visualization and remote monitoring. The system supports multiple motors, transmitting speed data to a cloud server via WiFi, allowing users to monitor performance remotely. Debouncing techniques and a moving average filter enhance data accuracy, while a correction factor refines RPM calculations. Threshold alerts notify users of excessive speeds, enabling proactive maintenance. This scalable solution is ideal for industrial applications requiring real-time monitoring and data-driven insights

Abstract

The increasing demand for electrical energy in Indonesia is often not balanced with efficiency of use, especially in the household sector. Energy waste due to lack of real-time monitoring and control of electricity consumption is a serious problem. To address this problem, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based home electrical power control and monitoring system has been designed and built. This research aims to develop a prototype system that is able to monitor and control the use of electrical power remotely through applications on smartphones. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller as the main processing unit, a PZEM-004T sensor to measure electrical parameters such as voltage (Volts), current (Ampere), power (Watts), and energy (kWh), and a relay module to control the flow of electricity to electronic devices. The measurement data is displayed in real-time on the TFT touchscreen LCD screen and the Blynk app on the smartphone, which also serves as a control interface.. With the implementation of this system, it is hoped that it can increase public awareness of the more efficient use of electrical energy and provide solutions in saving electrical energy.

Abstract

Server space security is a critical aspect that requires a robust protection system. Traditional single-authentication security systems have weaknesses against access theft and lack real-time monitoring features. This research aims to design an ESP32-based server room security system with dual authentication using RFID and PIN, as well as monitoring via Telegram. The system integrates ESP32 as the main microcontroller, RFID MFRC522, TFT LCD touchscreen, ESP32-CAM, solenoid lock door, buzzer, and push button with Telegram API for real-time notifications. The research methodology includes hardware design and software development using the Arduino IDE. The test results showed that the system successfully implemented dual authentication with a 100% success rate for valid access, was able to deny access with an incorrect PIN or unregistered card, and successfully sent notifications and images to Telegram in real-time. The system provides significant improvements to server space security through multi-layered authentication, remote monitoring, and comprehensive access documentation.

Abstract

Greenhouses play a crucial role in maintaining optimal environmental conditions for tropical tomato cultivation. However, temperature fluctuations in tropical climates often reduce crop quality and productivity. This study aims to design an automatic temperature control system based on the ESP32 microcontroller using the Mamdani fuzzy logic method to maintain stability within the optimal range of 25–30°C. The system employs a DHT11 sensor for temperature measurement, a relay to control the heater, and an L298N motor driver to regulate the cooling fan. Temperature data are displayed on a TFT screen and transmitted via Wi-Fi to the Blynk application for real-time remote monitoring. Experimental results show that the system maintained temperature stability with an average deviation of –0.8°C from the 30°C setpoint and response times ranging from 5 to 109 seconds. The fuzzy logic algorithm successfully adjusted fan speed (50–225 PWM) and heater status adaptively, making the system more efficient than conventional fixed setpoint control. Furthermore, wireless communication through Blynk demonstrated low latency (<6 seconds) and accurate data synchronization. Therefore, this system can improve energy efficiency, reduce manual supervision, and support optimal growth of tropical tomato plants in greenhouses
