Abstract

Adolescent pregnancy remains a significant public health issue influenced by various social, environmental, and familial factors. The rapid growth of social media has introduced new challenges, as adolescents are increasingly exposed to information that may shape their attitudes and behaviors toward reproductive health. In addition, parental role plays a crucial protective factor in guiding adolescents and preventing risky behaviors. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between social media exposure and parental role with adolescent pregnancy in the working area of the Soligi Village Auxiliary Community Health Center. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design involving 119 respondents. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square), and multivariate (logistic regression) analyses. The results showed that both social media exposure and parental role were significantly associated with adolescent pregnancy (p < 0.05). However, parental role was identified as the most dominant factor, with adolescents who had low parental involvement being 48 times more at risk of experiencing pregnancy. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening parental engagement and improving adolescents’ media literacy as key strategies in preventing teenage pregnancy and promoting reproductive health awareness.
