Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design and test a candlenut shelling machine to facilitate agricultural product entrepreneurs in the production process. The method used is the analysis method by calculating torque and power and using Autodesk software to draw tool designs, design tools, test tools, design tools using materials such as angle iron, 5 hp 2800 rpm DC electric motors, pulleys, v-belts and drive shafts. The results of this machine test use the principle of striking force on iron connected to an electric machine (DC) using a shaft and pulley and the breaking process takes an average of 1 minute for 4 tool trials. Then the percentage of the results of breaking the candlenut shells reaches 75-80% round candlenuts and 20-25% broken candlenuts. After the breaking process is complete, the candlenut core and skin are separated manually. In conclusion, the design of this candlenut shelling machine can be used properly after going through several trials. Keywords: Design, Breaking Machine, Autodesk, Throwing System.
