Abstract

Although the rise in Single Investor Identification (SID) indicates increased involvement in Indonesia's capital market, literacy readiness and size should also be taken into consideration. The purpose of this project is to map the SID growth pattern, examine the contributing reasons, and develop a plan for improving financial literacy across the country. Using secondary data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) for the years 2022 through January 2026, it uses a descriptive-analytical qualitative methodology. According to the findings, the number of SIDs more than doubled from 10,311,152 in 2022 to 21,066,415 in January 2026, with individual investors making up the majority and Java being the primary location. Although literacy may not always have a major impact on investment interest, digital access, education, and behavioral factors like financial influencers are the key drivers of this rise. A layered, cooperative, digitally supported literacy plan combining OJK, IDX, colleges, and the financial sector is necessary to close this gap between access and comprehension. According to the report, fair education and investor comprehension, rather than just investor numbers, should be used to gage market performance in national literacy policies.
