Abstract

General Background Occupational health and safety management serves as a critical foundation for operational continuity and workforce protection in industrial logistics environments. Specific Background In spare part transit warehouses, manual handling and material logistics frequently present severe physical hazards to warehouse personnel. Knowledge Gap Although hazard evaluation tools are widely recognized, systematic evaluations focusing on spare part transit hub operational workflows remain insufficiently documented. Aims This study evaluates occupational safety risks and formulates targeted risk mitigation strategies within a transit warehouse setting. Results Evaluating 22 identified operational hazard risks via the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control framework revealed 18 low-risk occurrences and 4 moderate-risk conditions, primarily involving respiratory discomfort, cut injuries, muscle strain, and hand pinching during spare part handling. Novelty A targeted risk control framework specifically tailored to spare part transit logistics operations is established. Implications Implementing structured engineering controls, administrative protocols, and personal protective equipment provides a practical blueprint to minimize workplace accidents and improve operational safety compliance in logistics transit facilities. Key Findings Highlights Operational hazard evaluation across transit warehouse activities identified 22 potential risk points, with 18 categorized as low risk and 4 as moderate risk. Moderate-risk hazards primarily stem from manual spare part handling, leading to respiratory issues, physical cuts, muscle strain, and pinching injuries. Mitigation strategies combining engineering modifications, administrative procedures, and proper safety equipment effectively diminish operational workplace hazards.
