Abstract

General Background Sheet metal manufacturing heavily relies on specialized equipment to cut, perforate, and shape materials. Specific Background These industrial systems utilize a three-phase induction motor to drive a fluid pump, converting electrical energy into pressurized flow governed by Pascal's law. Knowledge Gap Comparing the structural configurations and operational trade-offs between fluid-driven setups and conventional mechanical drives remains necessary to optimize manufacturing equipment. Aims This study investigates the electromechanical synergy of induction motors and fluid components while contrasting their operational characteristics with mechanical systems. Results Descriptive qualitative analysis and direct documentation reveal that the motor accurately drives the pump at 1500 RPM, enabling directional control valves to actuate the cylinder. Furthermore, fluid configurations provide highly adjustable applied forces, variable stroke lengths, and superior precision compared to mechanical drives. However, this configuration introduces intensive maintenance requirements and significant oil leakage risks. Novelty This research explicitly maps theoretical electromechanical parameters to physical equipment components to establish a direct structural comparison framework. Implications Adopting this electromechanical synergy ensures flexible industrial capabilities, provided facilities implement strict preventive protocols targeting fluid filtration and temperature regulation. Highlights: Converting electrical energy into pressurized fluid flow enables highly adjustable stroke lengths and applied forces. Compared to mechanical alternatives, this fluid-driven setup delivers superior precision but presents elevated leakage risks. Implementing rigorous preventive maintenance protocols prevents component degradation and secures continuous manufacturing workflows.
