Abstract

Low student motivation and learning outcomes in IPAS learning are major challenges in achieving meaningful learning objectives. This condition indicates the need for the development of interactive and contextual teaching media to increase student engagement in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the development process, test the validity, and evaluate the effectiveness of problem-based learning e-modules in improving student learning outcomes in IPAS subjects. This study is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects include learning content experts, learning design experts, and learning media experts, while the test subjects consist of 3 students (individual test), 9 students (small group test), and 20 students (field test). Data were collected through interviews, documentation, validation questionnaires, and learning outcome tests using validated instruments. Data analysis techniques included qualitative descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, and inferential t-test statistics. The research results indicate that the e-module development process was carried out systematically using the ADDIE model. The developed e-module received a “very good” rating based on expert validation and student trials, and demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes through a comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. It can be concluded that this problem-based learning e-module is valid, feasible, and effective for use in IPAS learning. The implications of this study suggest that interactive e-modules can serve as an alternative learning medium that supports meaningful improvements in learning quality and student learning outcomes.
