Abstract

Waste management is one of the environmental issues closely related to community behavior in managing and disposing of waste. The habit of littering not only reduces environmental cleanliness but can also affect the comfort and quality of the community environment. This community service activity aimed to increase environmental awareness among the residents of Sungai Gula Village regarding the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness through communal cleaning activities and education on proper waste disposal behavior. The activity employed a participatory approach involving KKN students and community members in environmental cleaning activities and direct educational sessions. The activity began with collecting and cleaning waste found around the village environment, followed by providing education to the community about the importance of disposing of waste properly and maintaining environmental cleanliness collectively. The results showed that communal cleaning activities can serve as a means of encouraging community involvement in maintaining environmental cleanliness.
