Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health remains a significant issue in Indonesia due to the risks of unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and risky sexual behaviors. Schools play a strategic role through the School Health Unit (SHU) in promotive and preventive efforts. This study aimed to analyze the readiness of the School Health Unit in supporting adolescent reproductive health education at SMA Negeri X in Indramayu. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with informants selected purposively, including School Health Unit officers, School Health Unit supervising teachers, the Vice Principal of Student Affairs, and Guidance and Counseling teachers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review, and analyzed thematically. The results showed that the SHU had human resources with positive attitudes and basic competencies, adequate facilities, and school policy support. However, the limited availability of educational media and the absence of specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) caused reproductive health education to be delivered in an unscheduled manner. Strengthening human resource capacity, providing structured educational media, and developing SOPs are necessary to ensure systematic and sustainable implementation.
