Abstract

Student learning activeness is an important factor in determining the success of the learning process. However, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) classes are often dominated by lecture-based methods, resulting in low student participation. Previous studies have shown that video-based learning media can improve learning outcomes and motivation; however, studies specifically examining the use of videos portraying the exemplary morals of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to enhance learning activeness in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah remain limited. This study aims to investigate the implementation of video-based learning media on the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad in improving the learning activeness of third-grade students at MI Ashabul Kahfi, Parepare City. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning activeness assessment sheets, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that student learning activeness increased from 35% in the pre-cycle stage to 55% in Cycle I and reached 80% in Cycle II. The study demonstrates that video-based learning media on the exemplary morals of Prophet Muhammad effectively enhance student learning activeness. Future studies are recommended to examine the long-term impact of this approach on students’ character development.
