Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a web-based information system for the data managemen and administration of Firearm Possession Permits (SIMSA) for the Deputy for Eradication at the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI). The study was motivated by the fact that SIMSA recording and archiving processes were still being handled manually, leading to difficulties in data retrieval, validity period monitoring, report generation, and access control for sensitive data. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing the Waterfall system development methodology. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and a literature review. The system was designed using UML and MySQL database modeling, with implementation based on PHP, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and XAMPP. The research resulted in an information system design featuring login capabilities, management of applicant and firearm data, SIMSA document handling, validity monitoring, a dashboard, reporting functions, and user access rights management. Black Box Testing confirmed that the system's core functions operate according to requirements. The system is expected to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and accountability of SIMSA administrative management within the Deputy for Eradication division of BNN RI.

Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, the adoption of information technology has become crucial for businesses seeking to enhance operational efficiency and service quality. One effective solution is the implementation of an Order Management System (OMS) application, which integrates order processing, inventory control, and transaction information in real time. OD Frozen Food Store in Palangkaraya continues to face challenges because ordering and inventory management are still conducted manually, leading to recording errors, service delays, and difficulties in monitoring stock availability. This study aims to design and develop an OMS application that streamlines these processes, thereby improving efficiency and addressing existing problems. The methodology involved system requirements analysis, application design using Unified Modeling Language (UML), and prototype testing to ensure functionality. Data collection was carried out through direct observation and interviews with the store owner and employees, providing insights into operational needs and constraints. The research process began with problem identification, followed by system analysis, and culminated in application development and testing. Results show that the OMS application successfully improves order and inventory management, enhances accuracy, and provides users with easy access to real-time information. The system also supports better monitoring, reduces errors, and increases productivity. This research contributes practical benefits for the store, readers, and other stakeholders, while serving as a reference for future information system development in order management. Ultimately, the OMS application not only strengthens operational performance but also delivers a better customer experience.
