Abstract

The formation of self-identity is a crucial aspect of adolescent psychological development, as this stage marks the time when individuals begin to understand themselves, define their core values, and establish a direction for their lives. This article aims to examine the Christian psychological perspective on the formation of adolescent identity and self-worth, while also explaining the roles of family, the church, and the surrounding environment in this process. The study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach. Data were gathered from books, scholarly journal articles, and prior research relevant to developmental psychology, self-identity, Christian psychology, and youth ministry. The data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method that integrates concepts of psychological development with Christian faith principles. The findings indicate that adolescent identity formation is influenced by cognitive and emotional development, self-acceptance, social relationships, and spiritual life. Families, the church, and the environment play vital roles by providing love, role modeling, guidance, acceptance, and faith-based values ​​that assist adolescents in building a healthy and responsible identity.
