Abstract

The irrigation system is designed to supply water requirements for evaporation, transpiration, and water losses. When the fulfillment of crop water requirements, plants are able to growt and develop optimally. However, the existing irrigation system in Gunung Bentar, Probolinggo, is currently less effective. A significant amount of water is wasted, and water distribution to crops is uneven. As a result, crop quality is inconsistent, which ultimately affects agricultural yield. To address both the insufficiency and uneven distribution of water, a drip irrigation system is proposed. The drip irrigation system divides the land based on head plot segmentation. Subsequently, the discharge of each emitter and the total required discharge are calculated and compared with the available water supply. This is followed by the design of the piping system and the calculation of pump capacity. Based on the analysis and calculations, the land is divided into 19 head plots. The discharge of each emitter is 0.033 l/h for corn and 0.044 l/h for sugarcane. The total irrigation operating time is 14.58 hours per day, and the required pump power is 9.6 hp.
