Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic non-communicable disease whose prevention and management require adequate health literacy. This community service initiative developed Virtual Reality (VR)-based diabetes education media integrated with the Hifdz An-Nafs perspective using the ADDIE Research and Development approach. The media was validated by experts in media, subject matter, and language and tested through pre-test and post-test with 20 users. Validation reached 90.60% from media experts and 95% from both subject-matter and language experts. Participant understanding increased from an average of 72% before intervention to 92% after using the VR media. The results indicate that the developed media is feasible, interactive, and culturally-spiritually relevant for supporting diabetes health literacy.
