This study aims to analyze the basic technique of running a short distance sprint of 100 meters in grade VII students at An-Nida Lubuklinggau IT Junior High School. The method used in this study is observation using assessment in the form of checks. The number of students who were the subject of the study was 31 people. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was found that 0 students (0%) were included in the "very poor" category, 8 students (25.80%) were included in the "less" category, 14 students (45.16%) were in the "sufficient" category, and 9 students (29.03%) were stated in the "good" category, while 0 students (0%) were in the "very good" category. These findings show that most students have basic short-distance running technique skills that still need to be improved.
