Abstract

Penerbit Nusa Indah is a business engaged in the sale of books and religious items in Ende Regency. In its sales process, Penerbit Nusa Indah still uses a conventional system, in which customers must come directly to the store or place orders manually through sales staff. This condition results in transaction records still being managed manually, limited product information available to customers, and a sales report recapitulation process that requires considerable time. This study aims to design and develop a Web-Based E-Commerce System to Improve Sales Efficiency at Penerbit Nusa Indah. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, while system testing employed the Black Box Testing method to ensure that the system functions properly according to the specified requirements. The results show that the developed web-based e-commerce system can make the sales process more structured and computerized, facilitate customers in obtaining product information and placing orders online, and assist administrators in managing product data, orders, customers, transactions, and sales reports. The testing results indicate that the main functions of the system operate according to the predefined testing scenarios and requirements.
