Abstract

This study aims to analyse the strategic management of excellence programs in supporting student achievement at Pesantren Terpadu Darul Aitami, South Aceh. The study focuses on four main aspects: strategic formulation, program implementation, resource organization, and evaluation and continuous improvement. A qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, coaching teachers, and students participating in the excellence programs. Data were analysed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the formulation of excellence programs is based on identifying students’ interests, talents, and potential while considering competition opportunities. Program implementation is conducted flexibly outside regular school and dayah learning schedules without disrupting formal learning activities. Resource organization relies on the commitment of coaches, student participation, the effective use of available facilities, and support from senior students and alumni. Training is developed according to the characteristics of each competition field, including Qur’anic recitation, Syarhil Qur’an, Fahmil Qur’an, Khattil Qur’an, Qur’anic paper writing, and Tahfidz. Evaluation is conducted through training monitoring, internal and external competitions, identification of weaknesses, and follow-up actions through targeted training and adjustments to coaching strategies. Intergenerational experience transfer and motivational support further strengthen program sustainability. These findings confirm that student achievement is not merely the result of individual abilities but is shaped through adaptive and collaborative program management that emphasizes competency development and continuous improvement.
