Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Naqshbandiyah Khalidiyah order in the transformation of spiritual education to improve the quality of life of the elderly. This research is a qualitative study. Data were obtained through observation and interviews. The findings show that the teachings of the Naqshbandiyah Khalidiyah order, at the normative level, have inspired the elderly to always remember God and practice religious guidance. Furthermore, at the implementation level, this order fosters optimism among its elderly adherents in living their lives. The order offers many conveniences, such as the obligation to perform dhikr at times that can be adjusted to the members’ capabilities. The message of the order to constantly engage in dhikr or remembrance of Allah in all circumstances has enhanced the optimism of its followers in facing life.
