Abstract

The advancement of information technology in the digital era has had a significant impact on education, particularly in technology-based learning practices. Innovation in learning media has become essential to prevent monotonous learning processes caused by the dominance of traditional methods. In the context of Informatics learning, such monotony has resulted in low student creativity, with learners tending to produce uniform presentations. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of senior high schools with computer access increased from 36.49% in 2021 to 39.38% in 2022; however, this access has not yet been optimally utilized to foster student creativity. This study employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, involving grade XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Situbondo with a focus on the use of Slidesgo as a learning medium. The findings indicate that integrating Slidesgo successfully transformed conventional learning patterns into more creative, interactive, and collaborative practices. Student creativity improved across four main indicators fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration as reflected in their willingness to modify templates, combine visual elements, and organize materials in a more structured manner. In addition, student motivation, self-confidence, and active engagement also developed, aligning with the needs of Generation Z and the demands of 21st-century digital literacy. Despite challenges such as limited internet connectivity and restricted access to premium templates, this research affirms that Slidesgo is effective as an innovative learning medium that supports the enhancement of students’ creative competencies. The novelty of this study lies in positioning Slidesgo not merely as a template provider, but as a pedagogical instrument aligned with the characteristics of Generation Z, an aspect rarely addressed in previous research.
