Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education services drives institutions to develop service models that are more responsive, accessible, and aligned with student characteristics. In the context of guidance and counseling, this need is particularly crucial, given that students often face academic, social, career, and personal pressures requiring prompt and secure support. This study aims to analyze the impact of chatbot usage on counseling services for students at UIN Madura, employing a simple linear regression method and involving 113 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability testing, assumption testing, and simple linear regression. The results showed high internal consistency for chatbot use (Cronbach's alpha=0,853) and counseling services (Cronbach's alpha=0,827). The mean score of chatbot use was 3,61 and the mean score of counseling services was 3,62 on a 1-5 scale. Simple linear regression indicated a positive and significant effect of chatbot use on counseling services, B=0,766, t(111)=5,908, p<0,001, with R²=0,587. Because residual normality and homoscedasticity were not fully met, heteroskedasticity-robust inference was also examined and confirmed the significance of the effect. The findings imply that chatbot-based support can strengthen the accessibility, responsiveness, and initial engagement of campus counseling services when implemented as a complement to professional counselors.
