Abstract

Abstract Stroke remains a leading cause of disability and death in Indonesia, particularly due to delays in treatment at the community level. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of health cadres in the early detection of stroke symptoms through training based on the FAST method (Face, Arm, Speech, Time) and the utilization of digital technology. The activity was conducted at Nagaswidak Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in June 2025, involving interactive training, audiovisual education, and the use of a stroke detection application. The results of the pre- and post-tests showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, from 40% to 90%. In addition, the development of educational media such as leaflets and videos proved effective in improving understanding. The innovative use of technology further strengthened the role of health cadres in delivering information and monitoring high-risk individuals. This program demonstrates that an educational approach combining simple methods and technology can be an effective solution to increase public awareness and quick response to stroke events. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Isometric Handgrip Exercise therapy in improving physical mobility among stroke patients who experience muscle weakness and motor impairment. The research was motivated by the increasing incidence of non-hemorrhagic stroke cases recorded at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Regional Hospital in South Sumatra Province. Method: This research employed a descriptive method. Data were collected through structured interviews, direct observations, and physical examinations. Muscle strength was measured using a handgrip dynamometer before and after the application of Isometric Handgrip Exercise therapy to evaluate changes in mobility and strength. Result: The findings indicated a significant improvement in the patients’ physical mobility after the implementation of Isometric Handgrip Exercise therapy. Both observed patients showed increased muscle strength and better control of extremity movement, suggesting the therapy’s positive impact on functional recovery. Conclusions: Isometric Handgrip Exercise therapy is effective in addressing impaired physical mobility in stroke patients. The intervention enhances muscle performance and contributes to restoring motor function in affected limbs. Limitation: The study involved only two participants and used a descriptive design, which limits the generalizability of the findings. Future research with larger samples and experimental methods is required to validate the results. Contribution: This study contributes to the development of rehabilitation nursing practices by providing evidence that simple, low-cost, and non-invasive exercises such as Isometric Handgrip therapy can effectively support stroke recovery and improve patients’ quality of life.

Snapper fish can be developed to make nuggets which will encourage efforts to prevent stunting, where 100 grams of snapper fish contains 92 kcal of energy, 20 grams of protein, 20 mg of calcium. And the combination with eggs in the ingredients for making nuggets which are high in protein and calcium can help a person's growth. Objective: to provide knowledge about the benefits of balanced nutritional food that is good for consumption by children. Research Method: This community service was carried out at 13 Ulu on January 22 – February 9 2024. There were 15 participants in this community service activity. This activity stage is the implementation stage which is carried out in 3 (three) stages, namely meeting for the implementation and dividing the participants who will take part, preparing the materials needed for the implementation and finally carrying out a demonstration. Research Results: The results found an increase in public knowledge about the benefits of balanced nutritional food that is good for consumption by children. Conclusion: as an illustration, processed NaNgKap (Snapper Water Spinach Nuggets) for the community can have a positive influence, especially in increasing knowledge about fulfilling balanced nutrition for families and communities. Abstract

Abstract Background: Dehydration is a common problem in adolescents due to lack of awareness of the importance of adequate hydration. Poor hydration habits can affect health and concentration in learning. The self-management approach is an effective solution to encourage adolescents to manage their hydration habits independently, by building awareness and responsibility in maintaining daily fluid intake. Objective: This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and awareness of students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang regarding the importance of adequate hydration for health through interactive education based on self-management. Method: This activity includes the stages of licensing, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Education is provided interactively through discussions, simulations, and educational games. Evaluation is carried out by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in student understanding. Results: The evaluation results showed a significant increase in student understanding regarding hydration. In addition, there were positive behavioral changes, such as bringing a water bottle to school and setting reminders to drink water. However, challenges such as old habits that are difficult to change still need to be overcome through ongoing education. Conclusion: Interactive education based on self-management has proven effective in improving students' understanding and awareness of hydration. The sustainability of the program can be supported by the provision of drinking water facilities in schools and collaboration with medical personnel or nutritionists.
