Abstract

Lampung Province is a province with leading access between Java and Sumatra. We know, Java is the region with the highest level of economic contribution to the national economy. Therefore, the economic stretch of the province in the past five years is estimated to have been affected positively. This study aims to see whether the improved economy that we represent is one of them through the economic growth rate in the province accompanied by a relatively small level of inter-regional inequality or an improved rate of economic growth accompanied by an ever widening level of inter-regional inequality. In theory, ideally high economic growth is offset by low levels of inter-regional inequality so that aspects of development equality are met. The method used is quantitative-descriptive analysis with 2013-2018 data series. Data for 2013- 2018 was deliberately chosen to see the latest conditions over the past five years. Based on Klassen's typology, in general economic growth between regions in Lampung Province is relatively advanced and fast-growing. This was followed also by inequality between regions in Lampung Province which was classified as low. The indicator of inequality can be seen in the Williamson index figures which are in the range of 0.2585-0.2797 with an average magnitude of 0.2679 (for all regencies/cities) and in the range of 0.2525-0.2667 with an average magnitude average reached 0.2591 (without cities) and Theil entropy index in the range 0.17562-0.17574 with an average amount of 0.17567 (for all regencies/cities) and is in the range 0.15370-0.15411 with an average amount of 0.15397 (without cities). However, during the 2013- 2018 disparities of inter-regional in Lampung Province tended to widen. This certainly must be a concern of the Lampung Provincial Government so that the resulting economic growth must be accompanied by a small regional imbalance.
