Abstract

In an effort to improve agricultural efficiency and productivity, it is necessary to understand the distribution and production of agricultural resources in each district and city in Jambi Province. Each district/city in Jambi Province has its own characteristics that affect the level of rice production, including the area of agricultural land, soil conditions, climate, access to technology and quality, and a large number of human resources. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis to group districts/cities in Jambi Province that have the same characteristics. This grouping is done using the Single Linkage cluster analysis method. This analysis produces 3 clusters, namely the first cluster has a rice production percentage of 2.778 and a land area percentage of 2.707, which means that the first cluster with Kerinci Regency members is the region with the highest rice production and land area percentage, the second cluster has a rice production percentage of -0.185 and a land area percentage of -0.151, which means that the second cluster with members of Merangin Regency, Sarolangun Regency, Batang Hari Regency, Muaro Jambi Regency, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Tebo Regency, Bungo Regency and Sungai Penuh City is a region with the percentage of rice production and land area and the third cluster has a rice production percentage of -1.114 and a land area percentage of -1.343, which means that the third cluster with Jambi City members is a region with the lowest rice production and land area percentage.
