This research is motivated by the insufficient management and promotion of the Jerra’e Old Mosque in Allakuang, a historical site with significant potential to be developed into a religious tourism destination. Established in the 17th century, this mosque holds profound historical, cultural, and spiritual value for the people of Sidenreng Rappang. The objective of this study is to identify the potential, formulate development strategies, and uncover the obstacles faced in the efforts to establish the Jerra’e Old Mosque as a religious tourism site. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection methods including interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the 4A theory (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary Services) for religious tourism development. The informants consisted of mosque managers, the Department of Education and Culture, local community members, and visitors. The results indicate that the Jerra’e Old Mosque possesses great potential as a religious tourism destination in terms of history, architecture, and spiritual significance. However, development is still hindered by a lack of promotion, inadequate supporting facilities, and a lack of specific regulations governing religious tourism management. Recommended strategies include community involvement, infrastructure improvement, the establishment of regional regulations, and the strengthening of digital-based promotion. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for the government and the community in developing the Jerra’e Old Mosque as a sustainable religious tourism destination.
