Abstract

Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) is a learning approach that connects scientific concepts with social contexts to make learning more relevant and meaningful. This study aimed to develop an SSI-integrated interactive science e-module on the topic of elements, compounds, and mixtures that is valid and practical for junior high school students. The study employed the ADDIE development model and was limited to the Development stage. The product was evaluated through validity testing by two experts, practicality testing by four science teachers, and readability testing involving ten students. The results showed that the e-module achieved a Gregory validity index of 1.00, indicating a very high level of validity. The practicality test yielded an average score of 3.60, categorized as highly practical, while the readability test obtained an average score of 3.47, categorized as Highly Readable. These findings indicate that the developed e-module is feasible to be used as an alternative learning resource in science learning. However, since this study was limited to the Development stage, the effectiveness of the e-module in influencing student learning outcomes has not yet been examined.
