Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the gap in educational infrastructure, especially the inequality of facilities and infrastructure, in remote areas. This study uses a case study approach with qualitative methods, which include in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis with various stakeholders such as teachers, principals, students, and community representatives, as well as observations of the physical conditions of schools and other supporting facilities. The analysis uses the interactive 3 Miles and Huberman models. The results of the study indicate a significant gap in the availability and quality of educational facilities and infrastructure between urban and remote areas. In remote areas, many schools lack basic facilities such as adequate classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and internet access. In addition, difficult geographical conditions and budget constraints are the main factors causing this inequality. This study contributes to understanding the complexity of educational infrastructure problems in remote areas and provides policy recommendations to address these gaps. This research is expected to be a basis for the government and other stakeholders to improve the quality and equality of educational infrastructure throughout Indonesia
