Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students’s saving interest and analyze the effect of mini bank utilization on student’s saving interest at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The background of this study is the low level of saving awareness among students and the importance of financial literacy education from an early age. The mini bank serves as an education from an early age. The mini bank serves as an educational innovation that provides practical financial learning experiences. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consists of all students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru, totaling 833 students, while the sample includes 70 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include validity test, reliability test, normality test and simple liner regression analysis using SPSS version 25. The results show that the level of students saving interest is categorized as high. Furthermore, there is a significant influence between the utilization of the mini bank and students saving interest, as indicated by a significance value below 0.05. This means that the better the utilization of the mini bank, the higher the students saving interest. Therefore, the mini bank plays an important role as a financial education tool that contributes to improving students financial awareness, discipline and saving habits. This study recommends that schools optimize the use of mini banks as a sustainable financial lieracy program
