Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the validity, practicallity and effectiveness of the use Biology learning material based on surrounded natural exploration oriented on students’ learning activities of students in ten grade of Christian 1 Soe Senior High School. The method used in this research was research and development (R&D) using Borg and Gall (1983) model. The result of the research showed that the developed material was valid by showing the average percentage 90 percent, the practicality percentage was 87 percent based on the teachers’ responses, 90% for the students’ responses. The developed learning media was also used effectively based on the result of analysis in the first meeting in good criteria with the average percentage was 75,08 percent and in the second meeting was 90,44 percent which was in really good criteria. This showed that the learning and teaching process used the developed learning media could improve the students learning activities significantly from the first meeting to the second meeting wich was 15,36 percent in good criteria.
