Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of perceived benefits, expected ease of use, social influence, supportive conditions, and trust on the intention to use financial technology (fintech) among college students in Batam City. The method used was a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 273 active college students. The data analysis process was carried out using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings of the study indicate that perceived benefits, expected ease of use, and social influence significantly positively influence the intention to use fintech. On the other hand, supportive conditions did not show a significant effect. The R-square value of 0.966 indicates that this research model is highly reliable in explaining the factors contributing to fintech adoption. These results provide practical implications for fintech developers and educational institutions in designing strategies to increase fintech adoption among college students.
