Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the Brave Pink trend evolved on the social media platform X over time using Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis. The approach used in this study is Fairclough’s CDA. The data corpus consists of posts, threads, and comments regarding Brave Pink, collected across three timeframes: Group 1 (August 28–September 1); Group 2 (September 2–6); and Group 3 (September 7–11), 2025. Each group contains ten sample posts. This study shows that the Brave Pink movement underwent a profound structural evolution as it circulated through the internet.Group 1 operationalized raw footage from the demonstration by idolizing the subject's confrontational stance into an instant symbol of grassroots bravery. Group 2 shiftted the focus away from the individual figure and turned collective anger into a universal design project in the form of a color palette. Group 3 initially formed to react to the cyber warfare from buzzers who attempted to assassinate the subject's character through doxxing or personal rumors. The study demonstrates that combining design theories with online subcultures fosters grassroots solidarity, allowing marginalized communities to turn routine digital consumption into accessible political resistance.
