Abstract

Utility systems are essential for ensuring safety, comfort, and operational efficiency in hospital buildings. This study aims to analyze the implementation and technical compliance of air conditioning (AC) and elevator systems in the Oncology Building of RSUP Dr. R.D. Kandou Manado. A descriptive-evaluative method combining quantitative and qualitative approaches was employed. Data were collected through field observations, documentation, and technical project documents. The AC system was evaluated based on its type, installation layout, air distribution, and capacity, while the elevator system was assessed in terms of specifications, travel time, waiting time, and handling capacity. The findings indicate that the building utilizes a central AC system with 4-way cassette units installed in spacious rooms and 2-way cassette units in elongated rooms to support appropriate air distribution. However, comprehensive evaluation of AC capacity remains limited by incomplete technical specifications and air parameter measurements. The elevator system consists of two bed lifts and two fire lifts, each with a capacity of 1,800 kg and a speed of 120 meters per minute. The calculated round trip time was 152.4 seconds, while the Elevator Traffic Analysis indicated a waiting time of 41.13 seconds and a handling capacity of 10.89%. These elevator performance indicators met the criteria applied in the study based on SNI 03-6573-2001. The findings provide a basis for evaluating hospital utility systems and identifying areas requiring further technical assessment.
