Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are occupational health problems that can be caused by poor ergonomic working conditions. This study aimed to determine the relationship between working ergonomic conditions and MSDs complaints among production operators at PT Surabaya Wire. This quantitative study used a correlational and cross-sectional design. The population and sample consisted of 50 production operators selected using total sampling. Data were collected using a work ergonomics questionnaire and Nordic Body Map (NBM), then analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results showed that ergonomic working conditions had a mean score of 77.48 and were categorized as good, while MSDs complaints had a mean score of 55.22 and were categorized as moderate. Pearson correlation analysis showed r = -0.682 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Therefore, there was a significant and strong relationship between ergonomic working conditions and MSDs complaints. The negative relationship indicates that better ergonomic conditions are associated with lower MSDs complaints.
