Abstract

This research analyzes the contribution of social media on the popularity and dissemination of information about Bitcoin through the lens of Theodor Adornos philosophy. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, direct interviews in the field and observations on social media. As a result, social media plays an important role in shaping market sentiment towards Bitcoin. A tweet from a famous figure or influencer about Bitcoin can influence the price and investor interest in a short time. Therefore, social media has become a powerful platform for spreading news analysis and views on Bitcoin, which can then influence market volatility. Apart from that, social media is also a platform for new projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem to promote their ideas, products or services to a wider audience. ICOs (Initial coin offerings) and other blockchain projects often uses social media to build communities, raise funds and communicate the added value of their projects to potential investors. Social media also plays an important role in mediating dialogue between Bitcoin users and regulators, influencing public perception, shaping regulatory decisions, and determining the wider acceptance of bitcoin as a legitimate financial asset, additionally, social media fosters discussions among developer, trader and enthusiasts, facilitates knowledge exchange, and accelerates the adoption of bitcoin technology in various sectors
